               FRIDAY, MAY 18               

8:00am – Paddlefest Kick-Off Kayak w/ Seascape Kayak Tours

  • Seascape Kayak Tours will be leading a guided kayak trip from Deer Island to the St. Andrews Wharf to kick off the festival!
  • Cost: $100 per person (a portion of proceeds donated to local marine conservation organizations)
  • Space Limited. Pre-registration is required. For more information or to register contact Bruce Smith at Seascape Kayak Tours 

12:00pm – Marine Conservation Discussion w/ Bruce Smith

  • Bruce Smith will lead a talk/discussion on conservation efforts for the Bay of Fundy
  • Outdoor Location: St. Andrews Wharf. Rain Location: Honeybeans Cafe
  • Cost: Free to the public / donations to the conservation council encouraged.

1:30pm – SUP Clinic w/ East Coast Kayak School

  • Introductory Stand Up Paddle-board clinic @ Katy’s Cove (weather permitting)
  • Optional sunset paddle leaving St. Andrews Wharf  @ 6pm (1 hour + trip -weather permitting)
  • In the event of poor weather conditions an alternative Sea Kayak paddle will be available
  • Limited spots available. Preregistration required to secure spot.
  • Paddle Canada sanctioned event
  • Cost: $75 per person

3:00pm – “Walk a Mile in my Wetshoes” – Presentation @ Sunbury Shores

  • Tim Humes (from Canoe Kayak NB) will present a talk on the Ancient Portage Trails Project
  • Cost: By Donation  (all proceeds will go to the Ancient Portage Trails Project)

10:00am – Paddlefest Craft Market (Town Square)

  • The Annual Paddlefest Craft Market featuring local artwork, jewellery, cosmetic products, clothing, a record fair, food, buskers & more!

10:00am – Art in Nature Workshop + Hike w/ The Nature Trust of NB 

  • Art in Nature Workshop @ Sunbury Shores w/ The Nature Trust followed by a hike at the Caughey Taylor Nature Preserve. Carpooling will be available.

  • An alternative to the hike is a paddle to the Caughey Taylor Nature Preserve w/ Maritime DayTripping & Seascape Kayak Tours
  • Meeting Location: Harmony House at 9am
  • Cost: FREE to public
  • Kayak rentals available through Seascape Kayak Tours
  • Preregistration is required. Register through Maritime Daytripping

  • COJO Diving will be leading a fun dive at McCann Head starting around 10am
  • Hotdog roast & potluck lunch at 1:30pm
  • Cost: $5/person or contribute an item to the potluck

12:30pm – KaYoga w/ Seascape Kayak Tours

  • A guided paddle w/ a certified yoga instructor leading a yoga lesson right from the boats!
  • Meeting Place: Bar Road.
  • Limited space. Preregistration required to secure spot.
  • Cost: $85.00 with Boat Rental / $40.00 with own boat

1:30pm – Navy Island Paddle w/ East Coast Kayak School & Outdoors NB

  • A guided Paddle Around Navy Island w/ East Coast Kayak School & Outdoors NB
  • Alternative location in case of adverse weather: Digdeguash Estuary
  • Cost:$25.00 with own boat and gear / $50.00 with boat and gear rental (gear rental includes paddle, PFD and nylon skirt but NOT required Dry/Semi Dry suit or wet suit)
  • Required gear includes: Seakayak, paddle, PFD, skirt, dry/semi dry or wet suit

10:00am – Fun Dive w/ COJO Diving

  • COJO Diving will be leading a dive at Caughey-Taylor Nature Preserve starting at 10am
  •  An educational and fun dive! See the unique marine habitats under the stewardship of the Nature Trust of NB.
  • Cost: $5/person

11:00am – Navy Island Beach Clean Up w/ The Fundy Baykeeper

  • Join The Fundy Baykeepr & Paddlefest for a Beach Clean up of Navy Island
  • Hop on board one of the provided boats (please bring your own lifejacket) or follow along with your own kayak or water craft.
  • This is a kid friendly event. A hot dog roast on the beach will follow the clean up!

1:00pm – Minister’s Island Paddle w/ River Bay Adventures

  • Meet at Bar Roadat 1:00pm. Launch at 1:30pm. Return time 5:30
  • Maximum of 12 spots available, preregistration required
  • Cost: $120 (for Boat and gear rentals)
  • Cost (no rentals required): $100 (includes, paddle, seafood meal, and bracelets for Minister’s Island)

All official Paddlefest events are “dry” events and therefore there are no drugs or alcohol permitted on the trips. If guides believe there is participants using drugs or alcohol before the trip they will be asked to not participate. This is for the safety of all participants on the water.

All adventure activities involve some risk. There is always the possibility of injury. Activities will require participants to sign a liability release waiver and all participants should assume some risk for participating in the adventure.
